UC Irvine Breaks Research Funding Record

For fiscal year 2015-16, UC Irvine received $395 million in grants and contracts and $132.5 million in philanthropic gifts, breaking the university's previous funding records in both areas. Fundraising doubled from the previous fiscal year and funding from research grants and contracts increased by more than $100 million.

UCSD Receives $30M from NIH for 4D Nucleome Research

It is responsible for the transmission of substances from mother to child that are critical to early development, including blood, oxygen and nutrients, without which the fetus could not exist. Sometimes, however, environmental effects can cause deficiencies in the placenta, which can lead to harmful side effects such as preterm birth or even death.
