UC Berkeley Researchers Develop New Imaging Technique for Cyanobacteria

UCLA Researchers Develop Cytometry Process to Diagnose Cancer

This research has excellent commercial applications and is already in the process of being translated into a novel technology by a Los Angeles start up. The new technique allows researchers to very accurately diagnose cancers by observing the physical characteristics of cells in bodily fluids.

UC San Francisco and QB3 Launch New Bioscience Incubator

Life Science Researchers at UCLA Use Nanotechnology to Fight Cancer

University of California life science researchers at the Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center have recently developed a novel and innovative cancer therapy approach that uses nanotechnology to fight brain cancer. This new technology uses nanotechnology structures called “nanodiamonds” to deliver chemotherapy agents directly to the cancerous areas in brain cancer patients.

New Life Science Funding for Biophotonics Lab Equipment at Texas A&M

The University was awarded $10.8 million from the Texas A&M University System. This new life science research funding will primarily be used to purchase new biophotonics laboratory equipment.

UW Translational Research Gets $65 Million in New NIH Funding

The University of Washington, Seattle recently received a $65 million grant from the NIH to help improve and streamline the UW Institute of Translational Health Sciences (ITHS) research program. This is the second grant of this type awarded to UW and will fund the program over a five year period.
