UPenn Receives $22.6M for Materials Science Research

University of Pennsylvania, PhiladelphiaResearchers within the Laboratory for Research on the Structure of Matter (LRSM) at the University of Pennsylvania have been conducting breakthroughs in the field of materials science since it opened in 1961. A leading center within the LRSM that helps with this breakthrough research, the NSF Materials Research Science and Engineering Center (MRSEC), was recently awarded a $22.6 million grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) that will support materials research at UPenn over the next six years. $1M in Biophotonic Sensors NSF Funding at UCDavis

University of Massachusetts: $4M Grant for Plant Stem Cell Research

Dr. Madelaine Bartlett, a biologist at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, recently received a four-year $4 million grant from the National Science Foundation. The new research funding will allow Barlett and colleagues from UMass and other institutions to study the genes that regulate plant stem cell biology and their effect on fruit size and yield.

$3.1M in NSF Life Science Funding Awarded to University of Utah

University of Wisconsin-Madison Receives $335.9M in Research Funding
