Two New Emory Research Buildings Are Under Construction

Emory University is undergoing a $52 million expansion project on the Sanford S. Atwood Chemistry Center. The new Emory research building expansion is largely funded by profits from an HIV-AIDS drug discovered by researchers in the building. This large amount of funding at Emory University will ensure that the space is bright, beautiful and also functional. Sunlit foyers and communal spaces will characterize the new building.

New $182.5M Facility at the University of Minnesota Underway

The University of Minnesota is partnering with Fairview Health Services to build a new $182.5 million outpatient care center. The new University of Minnesota facility is expected to be complete by early 2016 at the latest. One of the economic benefits of this new partnership is that University of Minnesota faculty physicians will also be able to share directly in the revenue of the center.

MSU Researchers Discover Pollination Depends on a Single Gene

According to a report by the United Nations,  crops reliant on honeybee pollination sum up to a net worth of $200 billion, and the decline in population is increasing the cost of beekeeping by an average of 20%. Looking into the matter are bioresearchers from Michigan State University, who are busy deriving the genes responsible for pollination.

New Building at UGA Receives $44.7M in New Funding

The University of Georgia, Athens will receive $44.7 million for the construction of a new UGA building, the Science Learning Center. The 122,500-square-foot facility will add 33 teaching labs to the South campus for the chemistry, biological sciences, plant biology and physics departments.

New Facility and Research Funding at Duke University

A new Eye Center Clinical Facility at Duke University is currently under construction. The new facility at Duke will house expanded clinical services designed to improve patient care and convenience. The 127,000 square-foot building is expected to be complete in mid 2015 and was made possible by a $12 million donation.
