The University of Wisconsin is a world renowned research institution which houses a Medical School that is consistently ranked among the top medical schools in the country. UWisc received $258,269,042 in life science research funding from the NIH in 2016.

 

Key Stats:

 

• 2015 Life Science R&D Expenditures: $589,652,000.
• The University of Wisconsin-Madison received a 5-year, $25 million per year grant to support research at the Great Lakes Bioenergy Research Center.
• The Department of Surgery at the University of Wisconsin has numerous research programs that are supported by more than $17 million annually.
• A $9.6 million grant was awarded to The Wisconsin National Primate Research Center.
