Spotlight on Science Meetings, Conferences and Events brings you information on the following event: International Oncology Summit
Cancer is a group of diseases that is caused due to abnormal cell growth and their potential to invade or spread to other parts of the body. Benign tumors do not spread to other parts of the body. There are more than 100 types of cancer including breast cancer, skin cancer, lung cancer, colon cancer, prostate cancer, and lymphoma. Symptoms vary depending on the type. Cancer treatment may include chemotherapy, radiation, and/or surgery.Oncology Summit is the great platform for everybody to put forth their ideas of Cancer research.
The main theme of the conference is “Together for a Better Tomorrow”. So, let’s all join together to find the solution.

Spotlight on Science Meetings, Conferences and Events brings you information on the following: Immuno-Oncology Summit 2017 to be held on 8/28/17 - 9/1/17
The Immuno-Oncology Summit will return to Boston again with the goal of supporting researchers in developing the next generation of immunotherapies. Immuno-oncology researchers are changing the way we treat cancer by unleashing the immune system and achieving functional cures in some cancers. This year's IO Summit has been designed to give attendees a complete picture of the field and its advances with 12 conference tracks, 1 in-depth training seminar, and 4 instructional short courses. Topics include immunotherapy discovery, development, biomarkers, and translational oncology as well as emerging topic areas such as cancer vaccines, oncolytic viruses, and advances in synthetic biology techniques. Overall, this event provides a focused look at how researchers are applying new science and technology in the development of effective and safe immunotherapies.

Spotlight on Science Meetings, Conferences and Events brings you information on the following: Workshop on Techniques in Modeling Human Cancer in Mice 2017 to be held on 8/20/17 - 8/27/17
This workshop provides training in the use of genetically defined laboratory mice as tools for asking questions about gene function and the role of genetics in the biology of cancer. Lectures will be given in the morning by world-renowned scientists, followed by intensive hands-on laboratory sessions. Didactic lectures will reflect current knowledge of modeling cancer in a variety of organ sites and will emphasize common themes in cancer research and modeling. During the hands-on laboratory sessions, participants will develop skills in cancer model manipulations and surgical techniques that they will be able to apply to their own research. The techniques learned are broadly applicable to many cancer types, such as brain, breast, colon, leukemia/lymphoma, and prostate cancer. Participants completing the course will acquire a practical knowledge of how to characterize and analyze specific mouse cancer models.
