Never underestimate the value of veterinary science in the life science research marketplace. You know this, of course, but sometimes it’s worth repeating. We recently published a blog on Washington State Universities vet med school, but the highlight of that article was not the research the CVM (College of Veterinary Medicine) is doing at WSU, but the role they play in life science research on the Pullman campus.
The entire School of Molecular Biosciences and the Center for Reproductive Biology are doing their research under the auspices of the CVM. That means the departments of: Biochemistry and Biophysics, Genetics and Cell Biology, and Microbiology, are all within the School of Molecular Biosciences, which is a branch of the CVM. Read more in our recent article about WSU:
At our event on the Pullman campus, all 7 buildings, multiple schools, departments, and areas in vet med at WSU are invited to attend, and do come. Last year we had 222 researchers actively participate in finding the newest and best laboratory supplies and equipment in the industry. There is still time for you to meet with these scientists on October 23, 2012.

Since 2004, the University of Minnesota's research portfolio has grown by 41% – the second-highest growth rate among U.S. public research universities. This phenomenal growth rate has helped pushed U of M to 9th among the nation’s top research universities. In fact, the University of Minnesota garnered a record $823M in outside research funding for 2010. In addition, 14 new companies were launched in past 18 months from the University-based technologies. This resulted in the University garnering nearly$84M in gross annual revenue from patent and licensing activity in 2010.
We will be in New York for a whole battery of shows this fall, and we strongly encourage you to be there with us. In fact, New York City has the largest hospital market and perhaps some of the best-funded medical school research departments (for such a small area) in the US. For instance, Mt. Sinai, ranks #1 in the country for its Geriatrics program, and has risen faster than any other medical school in the U.S. according to News & World Report rankings for the past decade.
