U.C. Davis Medical Center is a state of the art medical school and research center. According to U.S. News & World Report, primary care and research are among the best in the nation for medical schools. The U.C. Davis Health system employs more than 20,000 people and has an annual economic output of more than $3.4 billion for Northern California. For the 2012, the U.C. Davis Health system had an operating budget of 1.3 billion. The purpose of the funds is to provide quality medical care, pursue research, and to facilitate information sharing.
The U.C. Medical Center in Sacramento is made up of the U.C. Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center, emergency department and trauma centers, U.C. Davis MIND Institute, and the U.C. Davis Children's Hospital. The Research focus of the U.C. Davis Health system is cancer, neuroscience, vascular disease and infectious disease. The Sacramento campus has been undergoing expansion for the last 20 years to create a state of the art research and medical community that currently located on 140 acres.
Over the last 10 years there has been an upward trend in external research funding. In 2012, high quality research and scientists attracted more than 190 million in external research funding. In particular, 188 researcher’s attracted a combined $122 million in funds for the U.C. Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center.

In order to help life science exhibitors access this important research marketplace, Biotechnology Calendar, Inc. produces two shows at U.C Davis Medical School each year. In order to attract our high number of researchers who attend our events, we spend several days putting up posters and personally visiting labs on campus to invite researchers to our events. Moreover, we per-screen all events attendees to insure you are reaching your intended researcher audience.
At our event last year we had 159 attendees from 17 different research buildings and 32 departments around campus. Of these attendees 44 were purchasing agents, professors, and post docs, and 18 were lab managers. We expect at our 2013 event to have a similar mix of researcher attendees at our Sacramento BioResearch Product Faire™ on February 7, 2013.
