Target UCSD for Equipment Sales at Upcoming Vendor Event

NIH Funding: $400,878,894

The Altman Clinical and Translational Research Institute Building recently opened at UCSD. The initial five year $37.2 million grant was renewed with a $52 million grant last year.

In 2015, UCSD researchers were awarded a five year, $30 million grant from the NIH under its new 4D Nucleome Program to explore the role of DNA inside the nucleus in 4 dimensions.

The NIH awarded UC San Diego $13 million over five years to develop and test new stem cell treatments focused on autism and other mental health diseases.


A five year, $9.5 million NIH grant will fund UCSD research into "superbug" antibiotic resistance.

UCSD has started construction on their new Biological and Physical Sciences building, funded in part by a $2 million donation from the Kavli family. This building will include classrooms and laboratories and will focus on brain activity mapping, advanced energy and drug discovery innovation.

A $6.3 million grant was given to a research team from the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine and University of California, Davis to pursue a novel human embryonic stem cell-based therapy to restore damage caused by ALS.

Researchers at the UCSD School of Medicine received more than $5 million in grants to fund research on type 1 diabetes.
