The University of Maryland, Baltimore recently received a grant of $15.2 million to establish a new IGS Genome Center for Infectious Diseases (GCID). The university construction of the new center will enable researchers to use innovative genomics techniques to gain a better understanding of pathogen biology.

This new grant is a great example of the generous support UM Baltimore receives for its ongoing pioneering genomic research. Amply funded scientists at this institution are in constant need of the latest tools and technologies to help further their research.
