(J1) Keystone Symposia: Challenges and Opportunities in Diabetes Research and Treatment

This conference will:
• Bring together scientists from academia, government and pharma to discuss the state of medical discovery in therapeutic areas most promising for the prevention, treatment and reversal of type 2 diabetes;
• Focus on topics such as increasing energy dispersal through “browning” of white fat; metabolic effects of bariatric surgery; integration of omics-based findings to identify biomarkers; insulin signaling and impaired β cell function; diabetes and other disease; and insulin signaling in the heart;
• Stimulate cross-disciplinary collaborations through joint sessions with the concurrent Keystone Symposia meeting on “Obesity.”
