The University of California, Irvine research department is growing after spending over $340 million last year in research and development. The recent spending will allow the university to expand and continue its research in the sciences.
Recent research building construction projects:
The new $443,000 Biosafety Level 3 Training laboratory opened in May. This is the first of its kind in the country and was specifically built for educational purposes at UC Irvine.
A five-year, $8 million grant was awarded jointly to stem cell researchers at UCLA and UCI to establish the CIRM Alpha Stem Cell Clinic.
The California Wildlife Conservation Board awarded UCI with $2.833M for new construction at the Steele/Burnand Anza-Borrego Desert Research Center. Construction is in progress.
If exhibitors would like an opportunity to help outfit these new research labs with products and equipment, they are invited to join Biotechnology Calendar, Inc. at the upcoming Irvine BioResearch Product Faire™ event this fall.
