The 32nd Penn State Summer Symposium in Molecular Biology
Symposium - University Park, PA, United States
The mucous membranes collectively are the largest organs of the body and comprise the linings of the gastrointestinal, urogenital and respiratory tracts. Regulation of the mucosal immune response is critical for the maintenance of healthy tissue function, for fighting microbial invaders both locally and systemically, and for mediating reproductive processes.
This Symposium will bring together key leaders in the molecular, cellular and systemic signaling fields focused on the mucosal surfaces. They will be challenged to share their latest results on how mucosal signals are integrated to maintain health, to prevent and resolve insults at the mucosal borders, and to facilitate reproduction.
