International Symposium ‘Metabolism Meets Virulence 2’
Symposium - Osnabrueck, Germany
The colonization of hosts by bacterial pathogens required the adaptation to, and exploitation of the nutrients available in the host. Bacterial pathogens have adopted diverse strategies to adapt their metabolism for life inside host tissue or inside cells. In turn, host organisms show altered metabolism in response to infection. Understanding of the metabolic interplay between host and pathogen should reveal the basis of infectious diseases and may highlight new targets for treatment of infection.
MMV2 will bring together researchers in the fields of cellular microbiology, metabolic profiling and computational modeling of metabolic fluxes. MMV2 is part of the DFG-funded priority program 1316.
