Science Researcher Update: Spotlight on Meetings, Conferences, and Events

Experimental Approaches to Evolution and Ecology Using Yeast

Posted on Oct 10, 2014 6:52:00 AM

Conference - Heidelberg, Germany

This conference discusses fundamental questions of evolution and ecology. It explores the use of model organisms amenable to experimental studies of evolution and ecology. It focuses on unicellular eukaryotic systems, but contains examples from other organisms.

Invited speakers were selected to bring expertise from a wide range of topics, including evolutionary theory, computation, ecology, yeast genetics, cell biology, genome and protein evolution, and systems biology.

In a stimulating environment with presentations from invited speakers and many speakers selected from submitted abstracts, the meeting’s intention is to communicate ideas across disciplinary borders, to foster interactions between researchers with different expertise, with the intention of addressing and identifying new and emerging fundamental questions of evolution and ecology.
