The past decade has seen astonishing progress in our ability to decipher genetic and molecular reasons behind diseases as complex as cancers, neurodegenerative diseases, obesity, and diabetes. Equally exciting, the advances in stem cell manipulation, cellular reprogramming, tissue engineering, and genome editing have offered possible solutions to conditions previously considered untreatable. Meanwhile, advances in the etiology of diseases and the ability to manipulate cells and the genome also make it possible, and sometimes necessary, to personalize the diagnoses and treatment of a disease.
This conference will discuss progress in genomics and stem cell based therapies and will explore the challenges that medical professionals face.
