Following the success of our 'Complex Disease Genetics for Clinicians' workshops in 2012 and 2013, we are excited to announce an expanded workshop on ‘Genomic Medicine for Clinicians’. We will once again provide clinicians with an introduction to the field of complex disease genetics and its rapid progress in recent years, including the success of genome-wide association studies, and the transformative potential of next-generation sequencing technology.
This year the workshop will also cover new strategies and technologies to move from genetic association to understanding causal biology, and include topics like the role of the microbiome (our “second genome”) in disease. The course will combine lecture material from experts at the Wellcome Trust Genome Campus, computer-based practical sessions, and invited speakers from off-campus.
