AgriGenomics is the detailed study of the genetic makeup of plants and how all the genes work together to produce the crop. Recently there has been great interest in genetically engineering plants to optimize yields and their use in biofuels. There is also focus on the alteration of certain genes to increase plant resistance towards disease and infection.
