2014 Scientific Symposium: Metabolic Origins of Disease

The Metabolic Origins of Disease symposium will showcase groundbreaking research into the metabolic basis of a broad spectrum of diseases by 24 internationally renowned scientists. Attendees will have the opportunity to interact with thought leaders who are spearheading efforts to expand our understanding of metabolism. A key focus will be on leveraging newfound insights to develop novel therapeutics and diagnostics targeting a range of diseases for which altered metabolism is an integral feature.

Additional program highlights

Poster abstracts are invited on basic and translational research pursuits related to metabolism. Deadline for the submission of abstracts is December 1, 2013. There will be a half-day workshop focusing on state-of-the-art approaches to human metabolic phenotyping. The workshop will be held at the nearby Florida Hospital – Sanford-Burnham Translational Research Institute for Metabolism and Diabetes.
