Functional Polymeric Materials
Conference - Cancun, Mexico
The conference will cover:
•Novel polymerization strategies
•Materials from nano- to the micro scale
•Materials for drug delivery
•Smart biomaterials
•Complex sensing systems
•Bioinspired materials
Biological systems are characterized by complex molecular networks combining self-assembly, compartmentalization, gelation and catalysis propagated by polymeric materials. The vast array of functions that characterizes natural systems is awe inspiring and has driven an incredible burst of interest in functional, synthetic polymers. Chemical diversity in the realm of synthetic systems is extraordinary, with increasingly greater opportunities to develop functional materials across many length scales. This conference seeks to bring together researchers interested in fundamentally new strategies for organizing matter utilizing polymeric systems. This will include investigations of function from the nano- to the micro scale, and the study of novel polymerization strategies designed to enable the development of functional materials. Applications will be discussed in the areas of drug delivery, smart biomaterials, complex sensing systems, and bioinspired materials with functionalities that relate to the organization and interactions of their building blocks.
