Usual inspection and testing is highly inadequate for product validation.The purpose of testing is much more than merely conforming to specifications. Specifications traditionally miss about 60% requirements which are discovered later one at a time, resulting in wasting time and financial resources in fixing the defects. The purpose of testing is to prove that the product meets the criteria of fitness for use, that it does not have new risks, and it is fail-safe.
