Conference - Keystone, CO, United States
This FASEB Science Research Conference (SRC) focuses on cutting-edge research how protease networks operating at the blood-tissue interface contribute to the regulation of blood coagulation, endothelial cell and vascular biology, tissue repair and remodeling, developmental processes, common inflammatory diseases, sepsis, diabetes and cancer. A panel of leading experts and young scientists will highlight emerging concepts about the biochemical control of protease- substrate interactions, major technological advances allowing structural studies of these protease-substrate interactions in their natural environment, and novel insights into the biological contexts in which these interactions take place. A major incentive for this meeting is to foster interdisciplinary interactions and collaborations for developing novel protease-centered drugs, and facilitating the deployment of protease-modulating drugs that have already entered clinical practice or are in advanced stages of clinical development as therapeutics for stroke, myocardial infarction, venous and arterial thrombosis, bleeding disorders, and related cardiovascular disease. This SRC has an outstanding track record for bringing together leaders from basic research, translational clinical research, and industry, and for promoting the recruitment of young scientists into this vigorously growing field of research on protease / protease-receptor structure and function.
