Science Researcher Update: Spotlight on Meetings, Conferences, and Events

3rd International Systems Biomedicine Symposium “Big Data in Health Care – Challenges, Innovations & Implementation”

Posted on Aug 6, 2015 3:40:00 AM

Symposium - Munsbach, Luxembourg

Evidence-based treatments ideally suited for the individual patient emerged as the new strategy to tackle unmet medical needs.
Such innovative “personalised medicine” approaches often make use of “Big Data”, so called not only for its sheer volume but also for its complexity and diversity. While Big Data have been embraced and been successfully implemented in many other sectors (such as banking or retail) already for a long time, the Health Care industry is lagging behind. Even though first promising insights have been obtained in research, the global application of Big Data in every day Health Care is still in its infancy.
The two-day conference will integrate the entire life cycle of Big Data in Health Care and will address both achievements and breakthroughs in science, how to address the hurdles from discovery to implementation and solutions to overcome them. It aims to foster the dialogue between research performers and funders in such a way that clear recommendations and actions can be designed. Besides opinion statements and scientific presentations, ample time will be given for networking opportunities and exchange between the different stakeholders.
