Cell Biology Research Conference: International Meeting on Yeast Apoptosis

Posted on Sep 12, 2012 2:54:00 PM

9th International Meeting on Yeast Apoptosis

Conference - Rome, Italy

Protein synsthesis, mitochondrial biogenesis, mitochondrial retrograde response, the proteasome and autophagy, are among major intracellular processes that have been first and in more detail characterized in yeast. Recent achievements in Saccharomyces cerevisiae cell biology have revealed the molecular pathways of programmed cell death in this unicellular eukaryote, increasing the knowledge of cellular processes regulating life and death in probably the most well characterized model organism at the molecular level. The 9th International Meeting on Yeast Apoptosis will bring together investigators from around the world to present and discuss researches employing yeasts as model organisms to study regulated cell death and its role in stress responses, aging and development.
