We are pleased to announce that we will be organising the 5th Singapore Allergy & Rhinology Course (SARC), co-presented by the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy (AAOA) and supported by the Society of Otolaryngology, Head & Neck Surgery, Singapore next year from 1 – 3 May 2014, held at the Holiday Inn Atrium, Singapore. We have also expanded and are excited to announce the 1st SARC FESS Workshop to be held on 4th May 2014. The Directors of this one day workshop are Prof Dharambir S Sethi, Prof Bradley Marple, Dr Matthew Ryan, Dr Leong Jern-Lin and Dr David Chin. The main focus is on the basic and advanced techniques in endoscopic sinus surgery which allows participants to have hands-on cadaveric dissection supervised by personal tutors.
This 4-day Course and Workshop would be the first to establish the standard of teaching for ENT Allergy and Rhinology practise. It will serve as not only the platform for exchange of ideas but also increase greater co-operation amongst ASEAN doctors in understanding this disease.
The curriculum will be comprehensive and include core concepts of allergy. Understanding of the pathophysiology, diagnosis and treatment will be re-emphasized. Other topics including food allergy, asthma, eczema, inflammatory nasal diseases and immunotherapy will be taught. There will also be hands-on practicum on allergy testing.
