Tucked away in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains sits the electric college town of Athens, Georgia, just 61 miles northeast of Atlanta where the Georgia Research Alliance (GRA) calls home. This alliance gives ground to many major scientific discoveries that help resolve some of the world's largest scientific challenges. GRA generates new investments totaling $2.6 billion, it's programs have achieved dozens of science related breakthroughs, created more than 5,700 new science related jobs, and more than 200 new companies. The Georgia Research Alliance helps scientists and researchers take their ideas and discoveries, and transform them into a more profitable business.

At the center of the Georgia Research Alliance sits the Eminent Scholars® Program. This program is the core foundation for the GRA, and is made up of numerous, world-renowned scientists that help Georgia companies to change the world. As of now, the Eminent Scholars Program has recruited more than 60 of the worlds top scientists in multiple focuses including: vaccine development, molecular biotechnology, neuroscience, immunology, drug discovery, medical imaging, animal health, bioenergy and biomedical engineering. Not only is Georgia home to these innovative and diverse research programs, it is also home to one of the nations top research universities, the University of Georgia, Athens.

This quote is the motto for Georgia's most comprehensive, most diversified and the oldest higher education establishment in the state, the University of Georgia, Athens (UGA). The university focuses it's attention on it's alumni and students, offering baccalaureate, master's, doctoral, and professional degrees in more than twenty fields including: arts, humanities, social sciences, biological sciences, physical sciences, agricultural sciences, and environmental sciences.

On April 17, 2013, Biotechnology Calendar, Inc. is hosting it's 14th annual Athens BioResearch Product Faire™ Event at the University of Georgia Campus. Last year this event attracted more than 150 attendees, with 30 of them being purchasing agents, professors or post docs. They came from 27 different research buildings and 28 departments around the 759 acre campus.

University of Georgia, Athens is constantly upgrading its facilities. There are currently 13 active projects under construction, 14 in the design phase and 11 in planning. This list does not include the numerous projects that have already been completed. On the list of buildings under construction is the College of Veterinary Medicine Pathology Lab Renovation, with a budget of $3,600,000. The goal of this project is to better the universities ability to offer the alumni and students a more efficient and updated space to help facilitate the study of veterinary medicine.

Another top institute, Emory University, is internationally known for it's honored liberal arts colleges, graduate and professional schools, as well as being home to the Southeast's top healthcare system. Emory draws in more than $500 million a year in research funding, and offers it's students the possibility to pursue doctoral research in more than 40 specialties.

Also happening in the predominant peach state, is our 14th annual Atlanta BioResearch Product Faire™ Event. This event is taking place April 18, 2013 at the Emory Conference Center Hotel in Atlanta. In the past, this event has attracted more than 200 attendees, including 58 who were purchasing agents, professors or post docs.
