This program is the core foundation for the GRA, and is made up of numerous, world-renowned scientists that help Georgia companies to change the world. As of now, the Eminent Scholars Program has recruited more than 60 of the worlds top scientists in multiple focuses including: vaccine development, molecular biotechnology, neuroscience, immunology, drug discovery, medical imaging, animal health, bioenergy and biomedical engineering. Not only is Georgia home to these innovative and diverse research programs, it is also home to one of the nations top research universities, the University of Georgia, Athens.

On April 17, 2013, Biotechnology Calendar, Inc. is hosting it's 14th annual Athens BioResearch Product Faire™ Event at the University of Georgia Campus. Last year this event attracted more than 150 attendees, with 30 of them being purchasing agents, professors or post docs. They came from 27 different research buildings and 28 departments around the 759 acre campus.

University of Georgia, Athens is constantly upgrading its facilities. There are currently 13 active projects under construction, 14 in the design phase and 11 in planning. This list does not include the numerous projects that have already been completed. On the list of buildings under construction is the College of Veterinary Medicine Pathology Lab Renovation, with a budget of $3,600,000. The goal of this project is to better the universities ability to offer the alumni and students a more efficient and updated space to help facilitate the study of veterinary medicine.
