This FASEB Science Research Conference (SRC) focuses on the physiological roles and regulation of ion channels at the basic and translational levels. The conference brings together scientists applying diverse technical and conceptual strategies. Topics include ion channel trafficking, roles in neuronal and cardiac excitability, therapeutic targeting of ion channels, and novel modes of ion channel regulation. By including trainees and new investigators as speakers and programming of career development workshops, the conference also aims to nurture the next generation of ion channel biologists, particularly women and under-represented minorities in science.
