1. The University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute has been renewed for another $25.6M, five-year grant by the National Cancer Institute.
2. The Institute for Transfusion Medicine pledged $15M over the next ten years to support research at the university’s Vascular Medicine Institute.
3. Pitt's Cancer Institute received $10.9M grant, over the next five years, to study differentiated thyroid cancer.
4. Research lab scientists at the university recently received $10M, over five years, in laboratory and clinical research funding from the National Institute of Mental Health for studies focused on schizophrenia.
5. Researchers at the university’s Center for Vaccine Research were awarded $7.6M from the US Department of Defense to prepare countermeasures against bioterrorism attacks.
