The meeting has been designed to reflect a wide range of themes in childhood nutrition and obesity.
Four main symposia will focus on:
Current status
Data collection
Effects of early nutrition on later health
Strategies for reducing childhood obesity
The event aims to:
Promote the further understanding of nutritional science and its relationship with different diseases/health outcomes, for example childhood obesity
Stimulate discussion around key aspects governing the links between nutrition research, dietetic practice and government policy
Encourage debate and discussion around key Original Communications (OC) abstracts
Inform on the influences of early feeding and lifestyle on body weight in children
Examine the methods, including novel methods that can be used to measure diet and activity in children
Raise awareness of the links between early nutrition and later health
Assess and evaluate the effectiveness of nutrition and activity interventions in children
