The hospital’s Financial Report says that in 2011, National Jewish Health had $18 million in investment returns. In 2012, National Jewish Health recorded $108.9 million in patient service revenue, $54.7 million in research grant revenue and $110.7 million in investments. The hospital also spent $20.2 million in supplies last year. $21.4 million in charitable contributions were received in 2012, and that same year, National Jewish Health invested in research programs, new scientists, the development of advanced microscopy facilities and a new epithelial cell research core.

In 2011, the NIH ranked National Jewish Health 147th for direct plus indirect costs in the life sciences, excluding R&D contracts and ARRA awards, for a total of $28.2 million. The hospital was also awarded a five-year, $31 million contract by the NIH to research infections associated with eczema, $29.9 million over five years as a part of part of a Consortium for Food Allergy Research and $56 million to research asthma in inner-city children. In 2012, National Jewish Health received nearly $31 million in new NIH grants.
