Nuclear energy in the UK: priorities for new build, funding & developing the supply chain

Posted on Jan 24, 2015 2:44:03 PM

Seminar - London, Greater London, United Kingdom

This seminar will be a timely opportunity to examine the prospects and future of the UK nuclear energy industry.
It follows the European Commission's recent approval of the Government's Hinkley Point C State aid case.
Delegates will consider priorities for new build developments, funding, and the nuclear supply chain with plans to have the first new nuclear power station online and operational by 2023. Additional topics for discussion will include the extent to which nuclear power will play a role in the future low carbon UK energy mix, as well as an assessment of further potential new build sites. Planned sessions also focus on investment within the sector, including manufacturing and skills development, plans for new waste disposal sites and the environmental concerns large scale nuclear projects bring to local communities.
