Exploring New Dimensions in Cardiovascular Flow and Motion

Written by BCI Staff | Jan 3, 2012 7:13:00 PM

Workshop - Orlando, Florida, United States

Imaging methods provide potentially powerful means to assess cardiovascular flow and cardiac tissue mechanics, and have been the subject of much ongoing research. This workshop will focus on three areas of application: 1) the use of MRI and numerical methods for measurement flow and motion in the human body from head to toe; 2) the use of MRI methods to evaluate cardiac tissue mechanics; 3) emerging techniques for the assessment of cardiovascular function and flow.

The workshop will provide a forum for interaction between technically and clinically oriented investigators in this area. There will be an emphasis on reviewing physiological and clinical background and rationale for clinical usage of cardiovascular flow, cardiac tissue mechanics, and image-based modeling approaches.
