This one day Nutrition Society course will cover experimental design, sample size and power calculations; and more advanced techniques such as modelling outcomes, ANOVA model selection and linear regression, including mixed models.This course is aimed at those who have a basic knowledge of statistical concepts but who are looking to improve and more effectively apply their knowledge to research. The objective is to cover important topics in statistics for nutrition research. 

Delegates will be able to gain a better understanding of the following:

-Definition and use of statistical concepts
-Differences between accuracy & precision
-Basic concepts of modelling outcomes
-The linear model when there are multiple explanatory variables (ANOVA, multiple comparisons and regression analysis)
