Practical qPCR Workshop

Workshop - Piran, Slovenia

The workshop will focus on real-time PCR in gene expression studies and will also cover other applications such as microorganism detection, single cell qPCR, digital PCR.Workshop will include extensive practical sessions and troubleshooting section.

The workshop is organised in collaboration with National Institute of Biology. The lectures and dry-lab hands-on sessions will take place at the Marine Biological Station (MBS) in Piran, situated directly on the Mediterranean coast. The wet-lab sessions will take place in ISO accredited laboratories of National Institute of Biology in Ljubljana which include state-of-the-art qPCR centre.

Workshop will cover: review of qPCR theory, practical guidance on sample preparation and RNA quality control, amplicon design, quality assurance as well as hands-on lab and data analysis sessions. Instructors, all experienced researchers and users of qPCR technology, will also be available for discussions.
