Meeting - Great Missenden, United Kingdom

This residential event explores the factors that underpin a successful research career, as well as providing an excellent opportunity to share research findings, foster collaboration, and (last but not least) have some fun via informal socialising. It is aimed at early career immunologists based in the UK or Ireland, specifically members of junior faculty and/or research fellows (up to senior lecturer level), but also postdocs who are planning to transition into independent research in the near future.

Developing a career in research can involve many challenges that lie beyond just those presented by science itself. These can include ensuring that your work is properly funded through successful grant applications, as well as determining appropriate role- and career choices. Equally, progress with research is frequently dependent upon effective networking and collaboration. Formal opportunities to acquire such skills & expertise are limited, despite ongoing improvements in defining these aspects of career development. The YIF aims to bridge this gap.
