The Moores Cancer Center “Industry/Academia Translational Oncology” Symposium is a unique forum where distinguished investigators from academia join top decision-makers from industry to discuss the latest, most promising developments and applications in translational oncology.The talks focus on important discoveries, targeted therapies, personalized medicine, and combination therapies. Discussions particularly emphasize paradigm-shifting clinical trials designs with the aim of meeting patients' specific needs with an accelerated, streamlined plan, achieved by the synergy of industry/academia collaborations. The symposium format features talks from key movers of the field that disseminate breakthrough discoveries and important ongoing studies. Live case study presentations of previous successful industry/academia collaborative efforts examine the components that allowed for a much more streamlined process. An interactive panel session comprised of industry and academia panelists allows for further exploration of collaborative clinical trials designs and further dialogue about relevant translational oncology applications. The entire overall symposium environment, with networking reception, encourages dialogue amongst all participants and speakers to foster ideas and connections, driving innovation to ultimately better serve patients.
