Workshop - Stockholm, Sweden
The cytoskeleton comprises a complex system of cytoplasmic fibrillar networks, and an associated set of regulatory elements and molecular motors.
It interacts with all other cellular systems, providing a robust yet dynamic structural scaffold that determines cell shape, and affects cell adhesion and motility, intracellular trafficking, and the process of cell division. The cytoskeleton plays a pivotal role in the response of cells to numerous external stimuli, including the micro-topographic and mechanical properties of the surrounding microenvironment.
