Spotlight on Science Meetings, Conferences and Events brings you information on the following event: 2017 Keystone Symposia - Kinases: Next-Generation Insights and Approaches

Decades of both basic and applied research have unequivocally established the importance of the kinase family of phosphotransferase enzymes in virtually every aspect of organismal homeostasis. From the initial characterization of ATP-dependent phosphorylation in the liver by Gene Kennedy in 1954, our understanding of the family has grown from the diverse perspectives of enzymology, biochemistry, biophysics, structural biology, genetics, cellular biology, pharmacology and physiology. Importantly, these advancements have yielded transformative therapeutic approaches to disease, most notably in the field of cancer where kinase inhibition is helping to fulfill the promise of precision medicine. This meeting is devoted to exploring this innovative leading edge of kinase research, and will bring together leading researchers from academic, clinical and pharmaceutical settings to explore and define the new horizons in the field of kinase biology.
