2016 ASM Conference on Streptococcal Genetics

Written by Stela BCI | Jun 28, 2016 8:33:00 AM

Conference - Washington, DC, United States

The eighth in the series of ASM Conferences on Streptococcal Genetics, the focus of the 2016 conference is on basic and applied genetics in the streptococci, lactococci, and enterococci.

Members of these genera share core genetic and metabolic properties, and among them are some of the most important medical and dental pathogens and commensals, and microorganisms that are critically important in food microbiology. Genome-wide approaches have exploded in recent years, with next-generation sequencing and high throughput proteomics impacting all three genera and raising exciting new questions in the field. This conference will promote the exchange of current knowledge and cutting edge technologies in streptococcal, enterococcal, and lactococcal genetics and molecular biology through formal presentations and informal discussions.
