Over the past year Washington State's Professional Science Master's program has enjoyed incredible success. The program was launched last May in the School of Molecular Biosciences and was designed to train students in successful business practices and bioscience simultaneously. The program was the first of its kind in the state and was so successful that WSU plans to expand it into its several new research programs including bio-products, environmental sustainability and health informatics.
This new expansion is being made possible by $69,000 in new research funding from the Sloan Foundation. The funding is part of a larger program to fund education in new bioscience-based business across the state.

The Professional Science Master's has become more prominent recently as a response to the disconnect between business and science. It is designed to give scientists relevant business education, develop science-business partnerships, and prevent the necessity for science students to pursue advanced degrees and double majors just to stay relevant.
If you are interested in learning more about this exciting new program and meeting the students who are majoring in Professional Science, register to attend or exhibit at Biotechnology Calendar, Inc.'s BioResearch Product Faire™ at Washington State University in Pullman on October 25, 2011.
