UCLA Biomedical Research Funding: news update
Yesterday, February 14th, Chancellor Gene Block of UCLA announced the creation of the Dream Fund. The organization was made possible when billionaire casino mogul Kirk Kerkorian, who started The Lincy Foundation in 1989, transfered all $200 Million in resources from the University of Nevada to UCLA. Half of the money from the Dream Fund will help with medical research programs at UCLA and the surrounding community; the other half will be available competitively to other programs throughout the country.
You can become an active part of one of the nation's most well-funded research communities on April 7th, 2011 at the 27th Semiannual Biotechnology Vendor Showcase™ Event at UCLA. This event is open to life science researchers and industry suppliers. Non UCLA members must pre-register to attend this event.
