The 7th TAKAO International Symposium on Etiology and Morphogenesis of Congenital Heart Disease

Symposium - Tokyo, Japan

This symposium is originally started in 1978 to honor Professor Atsuyoshi TAKAO, who made great contribution to pediatric cardiology by establishing Takao syndrome, also known as 22q11.2 deletion syndrome. The meeting was held every 5 years with the participation of distinguished scientists and clinicians all over the world until the last meeting in 2002. Proceedings were published each time and the latest one entitled “Cardiovascular Development and Congenital Malformations -Molecular and Genetic Mechanisms-” edited by M Artman, DW Benson, D Srivastava, and M Nakazawa was published in 2005 by Blackwell Futura. Regretfully, Professor TAKAO passed away in 2006 at age 81. Now we decided to re-start this symposium in succession to his achievements and wishes. We are planning to publish a similar proceeding as a result of this symposium.
