5th International Conference on Phospholipase A2 Mediated Signaling in Translational Medicine

Conference - New Orleans, LA, USA

The meeting will focus on the molecular and cellular biology of phospholipase A2, with an emphasis on signaling mediated by the diverse array of mediators that this enzyme generates. This will include eicosanoids and docosanoids, as well as the evolving recognition of docosahexaenoic acid, neuroprotectin D1 and related mediators in brain, immune system and other tissues. Technological advances on lipidomic analysis and on matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization (MALDI) imaging mass spectrometry will be discussed. Special attention will be devoted to the implications of lipid signaling to translational medicine, including neurological diseases (such as Alzheimer’s disease), obesity, insulin resistance, metabolic diseases, asthma, arthritis, eye diseases (such as age-related macular degeneration), and inflammatory/immune dysfunctions.

The conference will highlight a set of award lectures, invited presentations and posters. Topics selected from submitted abstracts will be included for platform presentations
