Genes & Diagnostics: A Myriad of Issues in Biotech IP

We are pleased to announce a special Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory conference on Patenting in the Life Sciences, which for its first iteration will focus on issues surrounding the patenting of genes and diagnostics. We anticipate that this will be the first in a regular series of special Cold Spring Harbor conferences addressing the relationship between intellectual property and the life sciences.

An overview of recent results, technologies, and experimental techniques in biology aimed at patent practioners, venture capitalists, and investors
Presented by Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory scientists
Topics covered in the workshop will include: RNA interference (RNAi), pre-clinical mouse models of cancer, biomarker discovery in cancer and schizophrenia, efficacy testing of cancer therapies, live-imaging approaches for studying tumor biology, serial two-photon tomography for whole-brain imaging, and single-cell RNA sequencing.
