The Microtubule Cytoskeleton in Development and Disease

Conference - Spain

The microtubule cytoskeleton has essential roles in many cellular processes including cell motility, intracellular transport, signaling and chromosome segregation during mitosis and meiosis. The function of the microtubule cytoskeleton depends on the intrinsic properties of microtubules, on motors and other proteins associated with microtubules, and on organizing structures such as the centrosome.

In this meeting we will discuss recent advances in our molecular understanding of a variety of disease conditions that have been linked to defects in the microtubule cytoskeleton. Topics will include developmental disorders, defects in symmetric and asymmetric cell divisions, genomic instability, and ciliopathies.

We will bring together selected experts in the relevant areas as well as a limited number of participants to promote interaction and discussion of the key issues in an inspiring atmosphere.
