Tumor Immunology: Multidisciplinary Science Driving Basic and Clinical Advances

Meeting - Miami, FL, United States

The central theme of this conference will be to present and discuss the rapidly developing advances in basic and translational tumor immunology. Central to this theme will be updates on the immunology field’s adoption of new technologies in molecular biology, proteomics, engineering, and imaging that are providing novel insights into the cytokine/chemokine, receptor:ligand checkpoint, genetic, and epigenetic regulatory pathways that influence the inflammatory changes that are critical to cancer development and progression.  In addition, this conference will highlight new advances in targeting these pathways for cancer prevention and treatment. The conference will bring together cancer immunologists and clinical researchers in the field with a broad focus that will include advances in basic immunologic principles and new approaches for the treatment and prevention of different cancers. Attendees will include cancer immunologists and non-immunologists who are applying new technologies and concepts aimed at dissecting the inflammatory and immune responses that contribute to cancer development and progression. Building on AACR's previously successful Cancer Immunology Special Conferences, it is expected that this conference will provide for highly stimulating discussions that will further the scientific and translational goals of the field and allow for more effective exchange between cancer immunologists and scientists in other fields with expertise that can be applied to cancer immunology.
