Meeting - San Francisco, CA, United States
ASTM Committee E48 on Biotechnology was formed in 1985. E48 meets twice a year, once a year in May and in December with the D02 committee week with about 15 members attending one day of technical meetings capped by a presentation on relevant topics in the Biotechnology industry. The Committee, with a membership of approximately 120, currently has jurisdiction of approximately 40 standards, published in the Annual book of ASTM Standards, Volume 11.06. E48 has 3 technical subcommittees that maintain jurisdiction over these standards. These standards have and continue to play a preeminent role in all aspects important to the identification of biological materials, GMP process validation, biomass conversion, and renewable energy from agriculture residue.
