The conference will:
• Juxtapose cell biology, structural biology, pathogenesis and genetics and focus them on the most vulnerable stages of viral infection, entry and exit;
• Increase appreciation of the complex and varied cell biology of viral exit, which includes distinct, mostly cell-derived processes that include apoptosis, autophagy, multivesicular body formation and tunneling nanotubules, and that single viruses can utilize via several
different pathways;
• Focus on novel mechanisms of viral entry including exosome and microvesicle formation, autophagosome-mediated secretion and trogocytosis.
