4th ASM Conference on Enterococci

Conference - Cartagena, Colombia

The emergence of antibiotic resistant bacteria is one of the greatest threats to human health in the 21st century. Among these bacteria, enterococci are one of the most challenging organisms in clinical settings. The genus Enterococcus includes some of the most important nosocomial, multidrug-resistant (MDR) organisms, usually affecting patients who are debilitated by concurrent illnesses and undergoing prolonged hospitalization. This ASM Conference will cover enterococcal genomics, pathogenesis of enterococcal infections, structure, evolution and transfer of extrachromosomal elements in enterococci, dynamics of enterococcal resistance determinants, novel mechanisms of resistance, and metabolism and ecology of enterococci. The program is also designed to stimulate young scientists to showcase their research with oral presentations to be selected from submitted abstracts and two major poster sessions.

This ASM Conference is presented in conjunction with:
8th International Symposium on Antimicrobial Resistance (ISAR)

Organization: American Society for Microbiology
